Founded in 2002, Tanner Pharma Group (TPG) is a specialty service provider in the biopharmaceutical industry focused on improving patient access to medicines on a global basis. Tanner Pharma offers its biopharmaceutical partners a portfolio of four distinct service offerings that span the product lifecycle from clinical development to commercialization. Each of its service offerings has a component of the distribution of pharmaceutical and related products according to Good Distribution Practices (GDP). Tanner Pharma has distribution licenses in the US, UK, Switzerland, and Ireland, but the business operates across more than 120 countries. The company is currently in a phase of rapid growth and to support this growth, is seeking a Program Manager to support the Managed Access Program division, TannerMAP, in managing the design, setup and ongoing day-to-day execution of various access program. The position reports to the Executive Vice President TannerMAP.

Role Description

TannerMAP works with pharmaceutical companies to develop and deliver access programs enabling patients with unmet medical needs access to medicines in countries where those medicines are not commercially available. These access programs may be referred to as Named Patient, Expanded Access, Early Access, or Compassionate Use Programs. Medicines in the programs may be provided at a cost or free of charge. Laying the foundation for the launch of TannerMAP was the implementation of a series of innovative programs supplying donated medicines to 30,000+ cancer patients in nearly 80 low- and middle-income countries. With a solid foundation established to support future growth, TannerMAP has rapidly expanded its portfolio of programs supporting both big pharma and many small- to mid-size specialty and rare disease companies. To help drive and support this growth, TannerMAP is seeking a Managed Access Program Manager.

Role Responsibilities

Design and develop managed access programs through collaboration with prospective pharmaceutical company partners including:

  • Support in the definition of inclusion/exclusion criteria and other program requirements
  • Participate in discussions on overall pricing strategy and implications
  • Educate on program regulatory requirements for countries in scope
  • Provide input on projected program participation rates
  • Support in the development of commercial proposals for managed access program service agreements
  • Manage program implementation until fully up and running, including developing and managing a project plan and developing risk mitigation and contingency plans
  • Oversee program delivery, manage client relationships, and handle internal and external communication of program performance, including regular client status update meetings
  • Develop initial and ongoing program forecast and budget
  • Establish high levels of customer service, delivering program specific KPIs and program financial results, and account relationship development objectives
  • Troubleshoot and firefight
  • Analyze and review prospective program opportunities
  • Develop program materials and presentations to support business development or account management activities

Desired Candidate Profile & Capabilities

  • BS or Master’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry or consulting, preferably in a market access, commercial, medical, clinical, or R&D role
  • Previous experience with the design, setup, and execution of a managed access program preferred
  • Clear proficiency in project management skills including ability to develop a project plan, lead periodic review meetings with clients, and hold internal and external parties accountable to meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge and interest in oncology or rare diseases
  • Basic understanding of the drug development process
  • Pharmaceutical supply chain knowledge helpful
  • Self-motivated with a passion for learning and ability to recognize when something needs to be done and without needing to be told what to do
  • Comfort and experience working in a high-paced and high-workload environment
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders internally with Tanner and externally with clients
  • High attention to detail and a high standard for quality work products
  • Highly organized and adept at multi-tasking with a solid track-record of following through on commitments
  • Demonstrated history of establishing and delivering high levels of customer service
  • Comfort working in a situation where there is an uncharted path forward
  • Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong command of the English language including concise, clear, and error-free written grammar
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
