Environmental Policy
1.0 Background/Purpose
Tanner Pharma Group and its subsidiaries and affiliated companies (hereafter “Tanner Pharma Group” or “the Company”) is committed to operating in an environmentally responsible manner to reduce our impact on the environment and climate change, conserving natural resources and operating in compliance with environmental legislation and regulations throughout the course of our business activities. The Company shall continually review environmental recommendations and requirements. The Company will adapt its business activities and processes in accordance with current guidelines and shall endeavor to make changes ahead of future legislation and guidance to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
2.0 Policy Scope
This Policy applies to all employees of Tanner Pharma Group and covers key elements of the Company’s environmental and sustainability initiatives and requirements. The Company shall continually review environmental recommendations and requirements and shall adjust the Company’s scope of actions accordingly.
3.0 Policy Requirements
3.1 Compliance
The Company:
To comply with this policy, the Company must undertake various activities, including, but not limited to:
• Measuring, managing, and reducing the Company’s carbon footprint
• Monitoring and reducing the Company’s water usage
• Ensuring all areas of the Company’s business activities comply with the requirements of environmental legislation and regulation, as applicable
• Ensuring all waste is disposed of in a safe and responsible manner, recycling wherever possible
• Promoting employee awareness to allow them to contribute to the implementation of this policy
• Provide associate training on an annual basis
• Reporting publicly on the Company’s sustainability performance
Employees:
All Employees have a role to play in reducing carbon emissions and supporting this environmental policy. Employees must:
• Respond to all requests for ESG measurements and/or information in a timely manner
• Attend all required ESG Trainings
• Follow all recycling procedures at your local office
• Escalate any environmental concerns or breaches promptly
While Company-level targets are set, all employees should also consider the choices made on a daily basis and the environmental impact.
For instance:
• When travelling, are there more environmentally friendly options to take?
• Can some meetings be arranged remotely instead of travelling to meet in person?
• Think before you print.
• Are you following office recycling and energy saving measures?
• Considering a reusable water bottle rather than bottled water.
3.2 Timeline for Activity
Tanner Pharma Group has established its 2023 baseline carbon footprint, covering the period from January to December 2023, along with the verified results. This base year measurement serves as the foundation for our continued efforts to reduce emissions and to formalize our roadmap and timeline toward becoming carbon neutral.
4.0 Controls, Monitoring & Reporting
All employees are responsible for adherence to Policy requirements. The Senior Business Support Manager has responsibility for agreeing and establishing appropriate controls and monitoring routines to assess compliance with Policy requirements. The Company’s Senior Management Team (SMT) with an oversight responsibility related to the execution and ongoing compliance of the Company and its employees to this Policy.
Any significant issues of non-compliance with this Policy must be reported to management and escalated to the SMT and the Senior Business Support Manager, as deemed necessary by the Company’s President.
5.0 Governance & Oversight
Tanner Pharma Group’s Senior Business Support Manager is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and updating of this policy in alignment with the Company’s Global Policy Management Policy.
